Its center piece is an exhaust stub from Bf 109 G14 Werknummer 461200 flown by Oberfahnrich Arnolf Russow of 15./JG 4. Russow was one of many pilots participating in the infamous Bodenplatte mission. On January 1, 1945 Russow was strafing an American airfield over Ulbeek, Belgium when his aircraft was hit by AAA. He made a belly landing and was captured. His aircraft was buried until its recovery in the 1990s. All the pieces are mounted in a custom made wooden shadow box measuring approx. 18x15x4.
