Consolidated Vultee Aircraft Corporation was formed on 17 March 1943 as a merger of Consolidated Aircraft and Vultee Aircraft. Approached in 1939 to become a second manufacturer for the B-17 Flying Fortress, Consolidated instead developed the B-24 Liverator heavy bomber, which was arguably superior to the B-17. Several Years ago I purchased this piece of a B24 which I was told crashed in Alaska during WW2. No other details were given. After much consideration I decided to create artwork using the piece in the photo above. I will have more details soon. Stay tuned -Will
